October 9, organized by the Department of Language Information Management, the Ministry of Education of PRC, undertaken by the Confucius Institute at University of Sheffield, the “outstanding young language scholars studying abroad project” was kicked off smoothly at the University of Sheffield, 30 young scholars working on language related research from the domestic universities and research institutes gathered at Sheffield University, and started their three-month studying program.
As a bridge for language and culture of communication and cooperation, the Confucius Institute at Sheffield University not only committed to the spread of Chinese language and culture in the UK, but also continued to the buildup of the academic bridge for Sino-British exchange, it participated in and organized various seminars regularly, and invited excellent linguists regularly to give academic lectures. During the training activities, the Confucius Institute would also work hard to introduce the latest and the most practical academic achievements in languages of British to the domestic candiadates of the training program.
