On October 14th, the BLCU Institute of Comparative Literature held a 2017 cross-cultural forum at Jinyuan Hall of Xijiao Hotel, the theme of which was the "classical and modern, oriental and western in the lights of comparative study ". The forum was also held for the 20th anniversary of the establishment of BLCU Institute of Comparative Literature.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Zhang Wangxi of Beijing Language and Culture University delivered a warm speech. He expressed his sincere congratulations on the development of the BLCU comparative literature and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of BLCU Institute of comparative literature.

BLCU Institute of Comparative Literature was established in 1997. Since its establishment, the BLCU Comparative Literature and the world literature had maintained a great influence in this field, and had applied for and had undertook a series of major projects of high-standard countries, the Ministry of Education and Beijing, and had produced a series of high quality academic achievements, and had cultivated nearly 400 professionals including master and doctoral postgraduates, in 2002 it was named the Beijing key disciplines.
